 RAD Data Communications announced the deployment of its RIC-155GE during the ongoing Beijing Olympics. The deal will enable China Radio International (CRI), which is responsible for maintaining video server at the Olympics, to transmit Ethernet-based video feeds to Chinese fixedline major, China Telecom over the latter’s existing SDH infrastrucutre.
RAD claims that with its product deployment, China Telecom can now offer IPTV-based Olympic content to the subscribers of Chengdu (in Sichuan), Xian (in Shaanxi) and Changsha (in Hunan) provinces.
Upbeat on the deal, Jeremy Zimman, Director of Operations in Greater China at RAD Data Communications said, “The RIC-155GE is guaranteed to be a big winner at the Beijing Olympics.” |
