 Taiwan based operator Chungwa Telecom reported a 5.6 percent dip in its net income for the half year period even tough its revenues increased by 5.4 percent. The company’s profit for the six year period stood at NT$23.2 billion while the revenues reached NT$100.9 billion.
As per company statement, its internet and data services revenues grew by 1.8 percent for ADSL based services while FTTH based services saw a marginal rise of 0.8 percent. Mobile services revenues decreased by 1.2 percent. The company however posted strong growth of 31.7 percent in the mobile VAS front. Basic earnings per share (EPS) increased by 5.2% to NT$2.43.
The dip in profit was due to rise in operational cost by 4.9 percent to NT$68.6 billion primarily due to the operating costs and expenses from subsidiaries, especially SENAO.
Howver the company has managed to decrease the operational costs for the second quarter by 2.7 percent. |
