Alcatel Lucent board approves appointment of Ben Verwaayen as CEO

Alcatel Lucent announced that its board members have formally approved the appointment of Philippe Camus and Ben Verwaaayen to the company’s board of directors in addition to Ben being appointed as the new CEO of the company.

 

 “Philippe Camus and Ben Verwaayen are respected and experienced business leaders. Their understanding of this industry with its challenges and opportunities make them the perfect choice to lead and guide Alcatel-Lucent as it moves into this next stage in its development,” said an Alcatel Lucent board statement.

 

Philippe Camus is aged 60 and has experience across industries including as Co-CEO at European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) and is credited with managing a high tech MNC. He also serves as Co-Managing partner of an international media group named of Lagardère and partner of Evercore Partners, a New York based investment and advisory firm.

 

Ben meanwhile has a rich experience of the telecommunication industry including his stint as the CEO of BT from February 2002 to June 1, 2008. He was also associated with Lucent Technologies where he served as Vice-Chairman.
