Motorola to deliver IPTV Set-Tops to Deutsche Telekom in Germany
TT Bureau |  |  03 Sep 2008

Motorola has signed an agreement to deliver IPTV in Germany with Deutsche Telekom, the largest telecommunications company in the country.

Under the terms of the agreement, Deutsche Telekom will employ Motorola’s HD-ready IPTV set-top boxes for its ‘T-Home Entertain’ services, a Deutsche Telekom leg which focuses on the growth of broadband, telephony products and services at home.

The alliance, aimed at offering T-Home customers the facility to access a variety of multimedia applications other than the standard TV offerings, will see Motorola providing T-Home with its VIP1616E set-top, also known as Media Receiver 300 Type A.

With the installation of the device, subscribers to T-Home''s Entertain service will be able to view premium sporting content in full HD.

Additionally, T-Home viewers can use the device's electronic program guide to plan, record, and store what they want to watch.
