Airtel joins forces with HP to spur broadband, PC takers in India

Indian telecom major Bharti Airtel and Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) today announced strategic alliance, to encourage penetration of broadband and PC in the country.

 

As a part of the collaboration, Airtel will provide consumers broadband connection at discounted entry cost on purchase of every HP and Compaq lap top and desktop.

 

Additionally Airtel will offer consumer-friendly terms that include Zero Security Deposit and Installation fee, free Wi-Fi connection and discounts on Broadband Rental for up to 14 months.

 

The companies view the move as a key initiative from two industry leaders to bring about further enhance broadband and PC penetration levels in the
country

 

“The synergies of the Airtel-HP alliance will leverage the symbiotic relationship between the PC and Broadband, spurring uptake of best-in-class content and an enhanced on boarding experience for both existing and first time users. This initiative will further enhance our leadership in the broadband space and is an excellent value for money proposition for our customers,” stated Mr. Deepak Srivastava, CEO- North, Telemedia service, Bharti Airtel.
