Bharti Airtel and Tata Communications are under DoT scanner over alleged violations of long distance licence norms where Bharti is accused of setting up gateways at Delhi and Chennai without adequate clearance from government and Tata Communications is accused of offering variable tariffs for its international long distance services.

DoT has now formed an internal committee which will determine the penalty to be imposed on the operators.
