BSNL’s Kolkata arm mulls Rs 500 crore investment

BSNL’s Kolkata arm, Calcutta Telephones plans to invest Rs 500 crore to upgrade its telecom network. The company plans to introduce data services to its subscribers.

 

“We plan to launch data card in October," said Calcutta Telephones chief general manager S.K. Chakravarty.

 

The company plans to install 575 3G BTS by December at an investment of Rs 60 crore with a further investment of Rs 97 crore for CDMA services expansion. For 2G services, 110 new BTS will be set up at an investment of Rs 110 crore.
