iPhone, Yahoo tie-up to launch social networking application
TT Bureau |  |  12 Sep 2008

Yahoo on Wednesday released a new application that strings together an umpteen number of social-networking sites with a single interface, and announced its availability on both iPhone and iPod touch.

Christened as OneConnect, the application allows users to incorporate contacts, send instant messages or SMS messages, and view their friends'' latest activity on social networks, in short creates a socially connected address book for its user.

Built using Blueprint, a development environment which Yahoo first introduced earlier this year, Yahoo expects to offer OneConnect to users of other devices in the coming months.

Currently, OneConnect is available for the iPhone and iPod Touch as a free download on the Apple store.
