TDSAT orders Tata Tele to pay Rs.71 crore
New Delhi |  |  18 Jan 2008

TDSAT directed Tata Tele to pay the government Rs.71 crores by coming Monday towards pending dues before any allocation of spectrum. Only upon payment the company will be granted a no-dues certificate.

Earlier Tata Tele had asked DoT to clear its accounts. DoT alleged that despite several requests the company did not reveal the exact date of commencement of its operations due to which it could not send invoices for the period before March 31, 2005. Opposing it, TTSL''s counsel Ramji Srinivasan contended that the company received DoT's letter only yesterday and would give the necessary information to the department soon.
