TT Bureau |  |  16 Oct 2008

While appending a new arm, Spice Televentures, the subsidiary company of Spice Group today stormed into the mobile internet and application development space with the launch of Mobisoc Technology Pvt. Ltd.

“Today more than half the airline tickets are being sold using the internet. We expect that in 5 years, more tickets would be booked on the mobile than the PC. Mobile would become the preferred medium for consumption of internet,” said Dilip Modi, Chairman of Mobisoc Technology.

Mobisoc will be complimented by the company’s flagship product- Mitr, which provides a unified platform for more than 100 Java enabled and Blackberry phones, said the company.

The new venture, which will be chaired by Dilip Modi, and will have Lokesh Gupta and Vinish Kathuria as its CEO and President-Strategy and Business Development, respectively. Mobisoc has tapped Nuakri.com, Jeevansathi.com, MakeMyTrip.com, FinancialExpress.com and Sulekha.com as its initial partners.
