Ericsson launches ‘designer’ towers
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  19 Jan 2008

Sick of looking at those hard structures mounted on high rises? Well relief is on the way with Ericsson developing ‘designer’ towers which it claims will have texture according to the surrounding landscape.

The concept has been launched in Europe and may be introduced in India soon.

Ericsson claims that apart from the look and feel, the towers also provide cost benefits as the modular concrete construction allows rapid and cost-effective deployment. According to Ericsson, the ‘tower tubes’ do not require cooling, thereby boosting energy efficiency and simultaneously reducing operator running costs.
