TT Bureau |  |  12 Nov 2008

Airtel today announced the launch if its voice SMS services in Karnataka circle. The voice SMS is charged at 75 paise per SMS irrespective of the recipient network i.e. Airtel or other network.

Venkatesh V, CEO, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Karnataka, said, "The launch of Voice SMS in Karnataka is yet another innovative service from Airtel. We firmly believe that the service will enjoy an appeal that cuts across demographies. Airtel Voice SMS lends to the freedom of expression, a whole new dimension as it cuts across language and knowledge barriers. This would go a long way in making it a powerful tool of expression for users, who are not as well versed with the English alphabet. We are confident that this service will make a positive difference to the way our customers engage with near and dear ones on the mobile."
