Nokia Siemens to deploy Home Location Register solution to Orascom Algeria
TT Bureau |  |  19 Nov 2008

Telecom Algeria (OTA), a subsidiary of Orascom Telecom International and Nokia Siemens Network (NSN) has forged strategic agreement, wherein the latter will be the exclusive provider of Home Location Register (HLR) solution for Telecom Algeria.

As a part of the deal, Nokia Siemens will modernize the installed base of 17 million subscribers, in addition to providing an extra capacity of three million.

On implementation of the Subscriber Data Management Solution from Nokia Siemens Networks, OTA will be able to develop a single database for subscriber information, unifying data that is currently fragmented and giving the operator genuine customer insight.

Furthermore, the solution would be a good source for generating significant capital and operating expenditure savings for OTA, claimed NSN.

With the deployment already finished and the migration underway, the new capacity will kick off by next year while the migration of the current installed base is slated to start by the end of the year.
