Qualcomm’s mobile TV subsidiary MediaFLO bags test licence in Japan
TT Bureau |  |  15 Dec 2008

Qualcomm’s mobile TV subsidiary in Japan, MediaFLO Japan Planning Inc announced that it has bagged a licence to set up a test station in the special “ubiquitous” zone in Okinawa.

The company will now start a verification test of the MediaFLO format in the VHF bandwidth which it claims is the first of its kind in the world and collect data in the band to evaluate the quality of MediaFLO.

The licence follows the preliminary licence bagged by the company in August 2008 and subsequent test broadcasts carried out by it in September 2008.
