France Telecom gets approval for ISP licence from DoT
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  23 Jan 2009

France Telecom’s plans to offer services in India under a single consolidated licence have reportedly received approval from the DoT.

The company will now surrender its licence held under Global One Indian, a subsidiary where France Telecom’s another fully-owned subsidiary holds 74 percent stake. Orange services offers its services in India under the name of Equant Network Services.

France Telecom says that it will surrender ISP licence held by Global One Indian as soon as the government formally approves the ISP application made by Equant.

France Telecom additionally holds licence to offer National Long Distance (NLD) as well as international long distance (ILD) services in India.
