3Com wins network infrastructure contract from Thai Telecom Company

3Com Corporation said today it has clinched a sizeable part of a contract valued 323 million Thai Baht (US$ 9.6 million), to deploy network communications infrastructure at the Bangkok Government Center from Thailand-based Telecommunications Company TOT.

 

The contract will see 3Com establish 40,000-port local area network (LAN), along with other network solutions including the 3Com Switch 5500 and the Switch 9500 series of 10-Gigabit multi-service core routing switches.

 

Upon installation, the network will connect several buildings within the complex, covering a total area of 929,800 square meters and catering to 30,000 employees in 33 departments.
