STMicroelectronics launches new amplifiers for faster broadband environment
TT Bureau |  |  12 Feb 2009

STMicroelectronics announced the availability of new faster broadband amplifiers to address the need of growing speeds. ST says that its new signal amplifier IC supports higher frequencies and faster response.

Named as TS617 the IC can support upto 200MHz and ST claims that it can satisfy faster broadband services like 24mbps on ADSL2+ and VDSL offering upto 100mbps download and upload speeds.

Further the IC also incorporates two amplifiers allowing engineers to connect a HomePlugAV module to the power line using a single TS617. ST also says that it has high slew rate thereby enabling fast response to rapid rise and fall of high speeds.

The TS617 is in full production in the industry-standard SO-14 small-outline surface-mount package, and priced at $1.40 each for orders over 1000 pieces, says ST.
