Communications Minister, A Raja informed the Rajya Sabha that the names of the successful bidders for mobile number portability (MNP) licences in the country will be announced by March.

"The successful bidders for grant of mobile number portability service licences will be announced by March 5," said the Minister.

The letter of intent will be granted the same day to the successful bidder.

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s plan to introduce MNP by August this year.
