TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  04 Mar 2009

Further strengthening its global footprint, United Arab Emirates-based telecom service provider Etisalat has partnered with India’s Tata Communications to roll out Ethernet services.

The transaction will enable Etisalat fortify its presence by rendering layer-two global ethernet services in and out of the UAE, while Tata Communications will be able to extend its global network coverage in the emirates, said a joint statement from the companies.

“Through this partnership, Etisalat will offer benefits of dedicated end-to-end bandwidth through a superior variety of global Ethernet solutions in addition to offering value added services,” said Etisalat business solutions Vice President Abdulla Hashim.

With this tie up, Etisalat aims to target key enterprise segments such as airlines, media, real estate, logistics, banking & finance and other companies.

Currently, Etisalat has business affiliations with 15 key telecom providers around the world.
