The DoT has granted Letter of Intent (LoI) to Syniverse and Telcordia backed MNP Interconnect licencing the two firms to oversee the implementation of MNP (Mobile Number Portability) in the country.

As per the order, Telcordia will set up MNP systems in South and East India while Syniverse will set up the system in North and West.

Communication Minister, A Raja had earlier said that MNP will be implemented in metros by August this year and across the country by this year end.
