Tata Teleservices Ltd announced a tie-up with mChek whereby prepaid top-up and post paid bill payment services for Tata Indicom’s subscribers will be possible through the SMS channel.

Subscribers need to send an SMS “PAY TATA” to 59909 subsequent to which they will receive an automated call back on the phone to register their credit card and approve the transaction. As a security measure the transaction is approved only upon matching the 6-digit mChek PIN number which is not shared by anyone else.
