Wireless solutions group, Radio Frequency Systems (RFS) on Thursday unveiled a new manufacturing plant in Kolkota, for the production of microwave antenna systems.
The plant, which represents the Group’s first leg of a planned investment in India, will take care of the increasing demand for microwave connectivity in mobile backhaul and transmission backbone applications from the country and the APAC region at a later stage.
The facility will extend over an area of around five thousand square meters, with capability to grow and will cater to various global and domestic companies.
Operating with a tie up with local Indian partner, RFS clinched an exclusive agreement to render unique expertise, knowledge transfer and quality verification for completion of its new production facility.
According to RFS, the plant will give the company a channel to interact with clients so as to ensure aggressive competition in all areas of the country’s wireless sector and reach out to new customers across the APAC region.
“The addition of India will enable us to further balance our production capacities, further capture the APAC market opportunity and ensure that we are uniquely positioned to provide an end-to-end solution tailored to the specific requirements of each customer locally,” said Modeste Addra, Head of Radio Link Networks Product Line at RFS. |
