TTSL, DoCoMo announce completion of stake transaction formalities
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  26 Mar 2009

Tata Teleservices'' (TTSL) parent company, Tata Sons Ltd and Japan’s NTT DoCoMo formally completed the transaction for 26 percent stake acquisition by the latter as part of the capital alliance deal struck between the two parties in November last year.

Tata Sons further stated that DoCoMo has also completed its payment obligations under the Tender Offer and is preparing to acquire approximately 12 per cent of the common shares of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited (TTML) through an open offer.

The completion of the deal will also result in three representatives from DoCoMo being appointed to the board of TTSL.

“We are delighted that all transaction formalities have been completed and regulatory clearances received,” Mr Anil Sardana, Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Limited, said. “The Indian market and our subscribers will soon get to experience the benefits of differentiated products and services that our association with DoCoMo will enable us to offer,” he added.
