BSNL approaches TDSAT over IUC slashing
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  31 Mar 2009

The regulator, Trai’s decision to reduce the interconnection charge has not gone down well with BSNL which has approached the TDSAT asking it to put a stay over Trai’s new move.

BSNL reasons that most of the call terminating on its network is on its fixed line network. Trai has reduced the IUC for mobile as well as fixedline services to 20 paise from the earlier 30 paise. BSNL wants the termination of mobile charges to be atleast 3-4 times that for the fixedline services.

The matter is scheduled for hearing today.
