Ericsson set to bag Swan contract, says report
TT Bureau |  |  20 Apr 2009

Swedish telecom equipment manufacturer is reportedly set to bag the GSM rollout contract from new entrant Swan Telecom, reports the Business Line.

While the report says that Swan is expected to appoint two partners for the network rollout, Ericsson is certain to bag a part of the network.

Ericsson had been left out in the race to bag contracts from new entrants. Till now Chinese companies Huawei and ZTE had bagged significant part of the contracts from the new entrants.

Ericsson however has been a dominant player when it comes to network rollout of incumbent operators such as Airtel, Vodafone Essar. India market remains to be one of the major contributors to the company’s revenues.

The Swan deal is likely to include managed services as well.
