TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  30 Apr 2009

Bharti Airtel is speculated to form a Joint Venture with Alcatel-Lucent which will result in the latter managing Airtel’s network for the entire fixedline operations including broadband and value added services.

Reports estimate the value of the deal to be in the range of $ 200-300 million spread over two years.

CNBC-TV18 reports that Bharti Airtel has taken in-principle decision on the issue. The report also states that 4,000 employees from Bharti may be transferred to the new JV.
