 Telenor Pakistan has named Khalid Shehzad as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), with immediate effect.
Khalid, who was earlier at the helm of IT division of the company, comes with 14 years of experience in areas of IT and telecom and has also assumed the role of VP IT and CIO of Business Support Systems, IT Operations, and IT Security departments.
“The products we sell and the services we provide are based on a sound telecom network infrastructure and IT systems. Our core competency in Network and IT must always be the best in the industry. I am extremely confident that, with the new technical leadership, we can reaffirm our solid trust in the foundation of our business – Technology,” said Jon Eddy Abdullah on the new appointment.
Simultaneously, the firm announced the appointment of Atiq Ahmed, Director Operations & Maintenance, Technical Division as the Deputy CTO.
These announcements come on the backdrop of the recent merger of the Technical and IT divisions in the company.
Telenor is the second largest operator in the country, and enjoys a subscription base of
19.4 million customers - representing a market share of 21.6 percent. |
