MTNL migrates to full IP-NGN in Mumbai

MTNL said that it has migrated to a fully IP-based next generation network (NGN) in Mumbai, the network being developed by Alcatel-Lucent.

 

MTNL said that the new network allows it to migrate from a 2G to 3G environment and to IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) ensuring it network optimization, bandwidth savings, and reduced power requirement.

 

As part of the deal, Alcatel-Lucent will offer project management, consulting and design, installation and deployment, network operations, maintenance and integration and testing services to MTNL.
