SDN selects ECI's Carrier Ethernet solution to expand its services
TT Bureau |  |  19 May 2009

US-based SDN Communications announced that it has selected ECI Telecom''s Carrier Ethernet solution enabling the service provider to expand its services including ability to offer triple-play services.

“We approached our existing telecom equipment vendors in need of a solution that would grow with us. The flexibility and cost effectiveness of ECI's product were important elements in our decision to work with them on this project,” said Tom Durfee, Director of Network Planning and Operations of SDN. “ECI’s 9700 series enables us to implement a converged all-IP network for both business and residential services, with scalable quality of service (QoS) and intelligent IP/MPLS, enabling efficient network design – a key advantage in today's dynamic environment."

“SDN’s selection of the 9700 CESR platform further validates ECI’s ability to effectively migrate competitive service providers’ networks to next-generation technologies. The SR9700 versatility allows carriers to cost-effectively expand to meet the growing demands of customers, while delivering reliable advanced services,” commented Dave Robison, President, ECI Telecom Americas.
