Finnish handset maker Nokia said Tuesday that it has made its online software and content store- Ovi Store available to around 50 million phone users.

Developed along the lines of the successful Apple’s App Store, its roll out will be commenced on the coming Monday, opening it to users owning selective phone models of the company in Australia and Singapore.

According to the company, clients in eight countries can pay for purchases through their phone bills, and AT&T is working on making the store available to its clients in the United States later by 2009.

The Apple''s App store was of huge success, with over one billion applications downloaded in less than a year, setting examples for operators and technology firms including Vodafone Nokia, and Microsoft to walk on.
