iPass ties up with Tata Indicom to offer Wi-Fi services in India

iPass Inc. has tied up with Tata Indicom to enable its subscribers traveling to India high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity across 20 different locations including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. Locations also include Taj Hotels Group, Le Méridien, Café Coffee Day, Barista, Manipal University, and Wockhard as well as locations such as retail stores and railway stations.

“Our partnership with iPass is a reflection of how committed we are to enabling customers from across the globe to experience a reliable and secure wireless service and have a world class end user experience," said Shankar Prasad, President - Retail Business Unit, VSNL.

Chee Leng Loy, Managing Director, Asia for iPass said “Many iPass users view India as a critical business hub and this partnership with VSNL means that they can travel to the subcontinent, confident in the knowledge that they will find the same high levels of iPass service that they have grown used to in their home country”. Further he added, “This partnership also represents an added milestone for iPass as the eight airports within the Tata Indicom network takes us beyond the 450-airport mark globally -- another demonstration of iPass’ commitment to its customers and the business traveler.”
