TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  18 Jul 2009

Oracle Corp. said that it witnessed a continuing or increased take ups for Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management and Oracle Business Intelligence, and Oracle Applications in the Asia Pacific region (APAC) in the fourth quarter fiscal 09.

Amid the grave economy, cost pressures and increasing IT complexity has forced customers adopt pre-integrated products and move away from customized environments, helping boost the adoption, said Steve Au Yeung, Senior Vice President, Oracle Asia Pacific.

Particularly after the integration of BEA Systems in Asia Pacific last year, APAC has emerged as one of the fastest growing regions for Oracle Fusion Middleware worldwide, said Roger Li, Group Vice President, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Asia Pacific.

During the quarter, the company clinched important wins, including, Aircel, China Construction Bank, China Telecom Group, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, and Samsung Networks.

Meanwhile Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) went live on Oracle's Online Database Application (DBA) service for its customer loyalty program, PetroCard in the Q4.

Besides, PT Indosat Tbk also implemented Oracle Identity Management (IDM) across its 55 business and telecommunications applications, including billing, enterprise resource planning, human resources, customer relationship management and telco management products.

Others like Asciano Shenzhen COSHIP Electronics Co. Ltd. and High1 Resort deployed Oracle’s grid computing infrastructure, Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 respectively.

In addition to that, Oracle received multiple awards and recognition for its solutions.
