Sony Ericsson appoints Ericsson’s Nordberg as new President

Handset maker, Sony Ericsson announced the appointment of Bert Nordberg as the company’s new President. Nordberg is currently in charge of Ericsson’s software development in USA since 2008. He is associated with Ericsson for the last 14 years now.

 

Nordberg stated that the company needs to enhance its product design and development processes as well as strengthen its portfolio for the mobile internet market.

 

He added the SE will trim its product portfolio which now stands at 45. He also told that both the partners in the JV are committed towards continuation in the firm.

 

Additionally Sir Howard Stringer will take over as Chairman of the Sony Ericsson Board replacing Svanberg who is heading for a career with BP. Stringer is Chairman and CEO, Sony.
