Bharti RCom seek Bangladesh route to connect NE

A report in Bangladesh’s Daily Star says that Indian service providers, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications have approached the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) with a proposal to connect the North Eastern states of India through a optical fibre network passing though Bangladesh and offering Bangladesh access to the system in exchange.

Presently the NE states are connected through VSAT.
