Motorola comes up with eco-friendly IPTV set-top boxes
TT Bureau |  |  15 Sep 2009

Motorola has extended the concept of green technology on to the IPTV front as the company announced a new range of ‘eco-friendly’ IPTV set top boxes. Motorola says the new boxes are eco-friendly since they reduce carbon footprint.

The STBs are compatible with new US as well as EU initiatives for low-power consumption.

"We are continually looking for ways to improve the environmental profile of our products, as well as running our operations in a safe and energy-efficient manner," said Keith Kelley, vice president and general manager, EMEA and Asia Pacific STBs, Motorola Home & Networks Mobility.
