Telecom Commission names BSNL Maharashtra CGM Chandra Prakash as new member

India''s department of telecommunications or DoT on Thursday named Chandra Prakash, the chief general manager of BSNL Maharashtra Circle as the newest member (technology) of the Telecom Commission, the highest decision-making body of the communications ministry.

 

Prakash, who served as the CGM of BSNL Maharashtra since June 19, 2007, has set about concrete efforts towards interacting with customers to ensure the obtainment of proper feedback during his stay. He also undertook significant steps in reducing the normal vertical hierarchy within the organization and deputing power.

 

Additionally, he also took many steps to increase number of BSNL outlets, ensuring availability of products as well as product information in all the outlets.

 

Prior to this position, Prakash was associated with Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) and has been on delegation through TCIL to Middle East countries for five years and worked as project director for expansion/operation and maintenance projects of Telecom.

 

Prakash is an IIT Roorkee graduate with an MBA Degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
