Samsung launches Android-powered Galaxy i7500 on Tata DoCoMo platform

Samsung today announced the launch of a new Android-based Samsung Galaxy available to the subscribers of Tata DoCoMo.

The phone features a 3.2” AMOLED full touch-screen. It can support up to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and WiFi connectivity. It comes equipped with Google Mobile services including Google Search™, Google Maps™, Gmail™, YouTube™, Google Calendar™, Google Talk™ and Android MarketTM. Furthermore with the integrated GPS in the handset, user can avail services such as My Location, Google Latitude, local search and route description. It has a 5 mega pixel camera and promises to offer long battery life up to 1500 mAH.

Living up to that promise, we are launching the Samsung Galaxy with one-touch Google Mobile Services (GMS). This launch marks the beginning of TATA DOCOMO’s relationship with Samsung. We will continue working together to launch more innovative mobile offerings for Indian consumers on the Tata DOCOMO platform,” he added.

Mr. B D Park, Director - Telecom, Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd. commented, “We are very happy to be launching the Company’s first Android-powered mobile phone with Google Mobile Services in partnership with TATA DOCOMO. This powerful device will allow consumers to fully experience all mobile based Google applications on this phone. With its innovative features, Samsung Galaxy will offer a strong value proposition to discerning TATA DOCOMO customers.”

The Samsung Tata DoCoMo combine will offer the handset as part of a bundled scheme offering 500 Mb free download for 6 months. The handset is priced at Rs 28,990/-
