Alcatel-Lucent wins wireless broadband contract from Iraq’s Hi Link Telecom

Alcatel-Lucent, a provider of voice, data and video communication services has won a contract for the deployment of greenfield wireless broadband network in Al Anbar province in the West of Iraq from Hi Link Telecom.

 

Within the framework of the contract, Alcatel-Lucent will provide its CDMA/EV-DO technology to the recent winner of Western Iraq''s CDMA fixed wireless license.

 

“Being a new telecoms service provider in the country, it was critical for us to select a partner that can help us establish and maintain a high-quality wireless network that can offer a great experience for our customers,” said Sheikh Tarik Alabdullah, Hi Link Telecom CEO.

 

“The agreement we are signing today with Hi Link Telecom is significant because of the scope of solutions it involves, meeting the operator's demand for near-term expansion and providing a means to sustain growth in the future,” said Vincenzo Nesci, President of Alcatel-Lucent for Middle East and Africa.

 

However, the financial and technical rollout details were not disclosed
