Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is all set for expansion plans in Alappuzha Secondary Switching Area (SSA) by March end.
BSNL will soon come up with four new telephone exchanges and 62 mobile sites in district.
“The new telephone exchanges would come up at Punthala, Chandiroor, Thuravoor and Pandanadu”, said Alappuzha general manager M. Haridasan, in a press conference on Saturday.
The broadband facility, which had 4,200 subscribers in 47 exchanges now, would be extended to nine more exchanges by March 31.
Mr. Haridasan announced the launch of a free insurance coverage worth Rs.50,000 for B-Phone and post-paid mobile customers.
Another offer is the provision of telephone connections within seven days of applying under the ‘On Demand’ scheme.
Registration and installation charges would be free for this scheme till March 31.
Apart from that, BSNL also decided to waive fines and other penal charges for customers who are ready to pay arrears. Not only that, those users whose telephone connections are disconnected would also have the rentals waived for the disconnected period and the connections restored as well.
Customers who failed to shell out the arrears would, however, be subjected to legal procedures including revenue recovery, he said. |
