Bharti Airtel introduces per sec billing for calls made from USA to India
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  25 Nov 2009

Bharti Airtel which just last week took the lead in slashing the rates of roaming services, takes another competitive gain as it introduces per second billing for calls made from USA to India.

Henceforth the $6.99 calling card available in USA, will offer calls to India for 0.03 cents per second and a validity of 30 days. An administrative fee of $0.49 will be applicable on the plan.

“Ushering in a new paradigm in calling tariffs vis-à-vis conventional plans, this initiative empowers customers to pay only for the duration they talk. Providing enhanced value for money, the plan will enable families in the US to stay in touch with their loved ones in India, at the best available market tariffs for calls between the US and India,” said Bharti Airtel.

Airtel’s CallHome service is also available in UK, Canada and Singapore. But the company is yet to announce per second billing in these markets.
