TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  08 Jan 2010

Micromax launched a new open market handset (OMH) based CDMA mobile phone in India.

The concept of OMH allows subscribers to have CDMA handsets unlocked to any operator.

The handset launched by Micromax namely the C350 has a 2 mega pixel camera, motion sensor, 2.4-inch colour screen, stereo FM radio, multi-format music player, video recorder/player, Bluetooth 2.0 and expandable memory of up to 4GB. It is expected to be priced below Rs 4,500.

"Micromax is proud to be the first Indian brand to have released the OMH handset. The OMH technology, combined with C350, has enabled us to bring feature-rich handsets into the market faster, and make them available at very attractive price points," said Micromax Informatics Business Director Vikas Jain.

The company plans to launch more OMH based models.
