TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  08 Jan 2010

Retail major, Future Group is all set to launch its mobile services within four to six weeks based on an MVNO model, reports the Business Line. It will launch the services in tie-up with Tata DoCoMo.

``We should be ready with the telecom services within the next six to eight weeks,'' stated Mr Kishore Biyani, Chairman of the Future Group to Business Line.

The company is investing close to Rs 1,000 crore for this foray.

The Future group is present in the mobile handset retail space through its tie-up with Gulf’s Axiom. Its subsidiary, Aadhar Retailing is in tie-up with Reuters Market Light to offer agri-info VAS to rural flocks.

The company’s telecom services foray first came to light in June 2008. McKinsey and Co. and UK’s Value Partners Group Ltd are reportedly serving as advisors to the firm.
