Norway-based Telenor which is present in India through its JV with Unitech Wireless, Uninor is banking on the Asian region to sustain growth.

The company is expecting highest growth from the Indian market where it launched its operations in December last year and claims to have already clocked 1.2 million subscribers in the first month of its launch.

Other high performing markets for the company are Bangladesh and Pakistan. The company also expects Malaysia and Thailand markets to register mid-single digit growth rate.

The firm is already the market leader in Bangladesh through its GrameenPhone venture.

In India it is set to launch its services in five more circles in addition to the 8 circles where it has already launched its services.
