Harris Stratex Networks bagged a five year contract from new entrant Uninor to supply, install, commission and maintenance services, as well as the backhaul and access microwave links.

As part of the deal, Harris Stratex will supply its Eclipse platform microwave solution to meet both TDM and IP backhaul requirements.

"Over the next year, Telenor Group will experience an explosive rate of growth in India, which began with the largest single day launch in telecom history, and a service footprint covering almost 600 million people," explains Harald Braun, president and chief executive officer of Harris Stratex Networks. "Harris Stratex is proud to help enable this coverage with our industry-leading Eclipse platform, and world-class service and support."

Harris Stratex which is now renamed as Aviat claims that its solution enables optimized transport of all types of traffic, from low-capacity PDH to high-capacity SDH/SONET or Gigabit Ethernet.
