SBI to issue tenders for procuring mobile payment system gateways

The State Bank of India (SBI) is planning to float a tender for procuring mobile payment system gateway solutions as it gears up to be prepared for the mobile banking opportunity.

SBI Chairman, OP Bhatt said during a CII submit, "We are emphasizing on mobile banking along with some major technology projects like data warehousing this year. Tenders will be issued for the payment system gateway solutions to increase the use of technology.

Meanwhile the Bank has earmarked 70% of its planned capex for the upcoming new fiscal towards investments in technology.
