Satnav’s new GPS application assists in locating people, assets

SatNav Technologies, has come up with a new product, the SatTracx Locator, a mobile application will aims to assist users in locating people including children or employees as well as assets.

SatNav says that when the application is installed onto mobile phones, it can send precise information in terms of longitude/latitude of the phone.

SatNav has positioned the application particularly as an application assisting the security of children.

It says that even enterprise can use the application to track their employees. The application when downloaded onto a smartphone will send out signals to a computer at a dedicated call center run by SatNav Technologies.

Even mobile handsets can be tracked in events of misplacing them or theft cases.

Amit Prasad, CEO, SatNav Technologies, says, “SatTracx comes as a boon in today’s fast paced world, where people are constantly worried about their children, friends, employees and relatives. Our research has proved that there are many obstacles that people face in their daily lives in reaching out to others, there are huge problems of disconnect, misdirection, logistics, loss and pilferage too. I predict that SatTracx Locator services will go a long way in improving efficiency, safety and security in the country.”

The application is available for free download from www.sattracx.in. Users are however required to buy talk time for the customer care center at Rs 600 for a period of 6 months and worth 90 minutes of talk time with an additional 15 minutes free. The  Rs. 1200 plan offers 180 minutes of talk time with an additional 30 minutes free.

The call centres will be operational from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm through the week. The services can be accessed over GPRS or SMS channels.

As an inaugural offer, SatNav is offering unlimited free locations upto March 31, 2010.
