 Singapore’s Sigma Ventures in technical partnership with Dot Com Infoway Ltd’s (DCI)
DCI Mobile Studios bagged exclusive global smartphone application rights for the upcoming DLF IPL.
The deal entered into with Global Cricket Ventures Ltd is for a period of 8 years.
The tie-up will offer their applications branded as ‘Official IPL Mobile Application’ and will support range of smartphones including BlackBerry, iPhone and Android phones.
On offer for mobile subscribers will be applications and VAS such as real-time ball-by-ball video clips from IPL matches, replays, highlights, live scores, news and commentary, and images.
The applications will be available for download on a paid subscription basis and will include in-app advertising as well for revenue generation.
Acknowledging the importance of mobile applications, IPl Chairman, Lalit Modi says, ”Mobile Applications are one of the biggest developments in the mobile space, and the IPL is delighted to partner with Sigma and DCI to make the Official IPL Mobile Applications available to more people across multiple platforms. I believe that these innovative apps will significantly enrich the user experience for the global cricket fan by providing a direct window to the on-field action through generation next technologies.”
