The IPL Season-III may be just a week old since the tournament started. But Bangalore-based July Systems which is serving as the technology partner for IPL related content on the mobile web platform claims to be witnessing tremendous response from the Indian mobile subscribers.
July Systems claims that the ball by ball video scorecard offered over its MIX platform has already witnessed over 700 hours of IPL videos being downloaded by users.
Most of the users are seen using the Nokia handsets for downloading the content accounting for about 65%, followed by Samsung, LG, BlackBerry and Sony Ericsson accounting for 30%.
Interestingly, the observations reveal that the largest groups of users are people who own basic internet enabled handsets and not smartphone users.
“We are receiving feedback from users across the country daily, everyone is excited about the service and amazed with the ease of viewing videos and getting updates on their mobiles,” says Rajesh Reddy, Founder July Systems. “We are at the tipping point of seeing mobile phones becoming a true MEDIA device.” |
