July Systems says over 700,000 mobile video downloads already registered for IPL-III

July Systems claims to have recorded over 700,000 mobile videos of the ongoing IPL tournament within 12 days of launch of the service over the mobile internet platform. This reflects into over 2,000 hours of video downloads on to mobile phones.

According to the firm, Nokia-make handsets account for 65% downloads followed by Samsung, LG, BlackBerry and Sony Ericsson collectively notching 30% of the pie.

Speaking on the success of the IPL on MIX, Prem Bhatia, President , July Systems said, ”The response from users in India has been astounding.  The rate at which mobile phone owners in India are consuming the IPL on their phone is a testament to the value, simplicity and the premium content the service offers. Feedback from consumers has been positive and it is encouraging to know that users across the country from the smallest town to the biggest metro are all enjoying same experience on their mobile phones –it is fair to say that the mobile internet has ARRIVED in India as one of the main sources of information and entertainment.”
