VAS player CanvasM which is a joint venture between Tech Mahindra and Motorola is planning to launch 6,000 mobile applications, reports the Business Standard. The applications are designed to cater to both the handset community as well as the service providers, says the report.
According to the report, the company has developed the applications based on an independent applications store environment ensuring that it need not be tied up to any service provider or handset manufacturer.
The company plans to launch these applications in a month’s time.
The report further adds that the company has decided to stay away from entertainment related MVAS as according to the company price is the only differentiator in that category. The company plans to cater to entertainment content seeking consumers post entry of 3G in the country. |
